Tom looked over at the man driving. "Chislett, right?" After turning seventeen, Tom had been intensely schooled in English, the language of the protector, although his German accent betrayed him as a foreigner.

He received a reply in the affirmative and pulled out his mobile phone. Tom dialled the number he'd been taught to remember his entire life. Dresden Avenue.

The German blinked. "You're supposed to be dead." His brows furrowed.

"Tom Kaulitz. German Protector." Tom said by way of introduction. "I was woken this morning - at five AM, can I just say - by my mother telling me the Carden dynasty had fallen."

Tom snorted. "No chance. I hate the food. To be honest... I just turned Protector about two months ago, so I'm not the best one to act." He covered the mouthpiece. "Can you pull over and talk to him?" He asked the driver.

Tom grunted, feeling his throat burn. "Not now Bill!"

Michael looked back, "What was that?" He'd been payng attention to the road. It seemed like everyone in Chicago was trying to return home to their city.

"Pull over and talk?" Tom held out the phone. "I think Bill wants to strangle me."

Michael pulled into a gas station and parked, not finding Tom's statement particularly unusual. He had been told about the young German protector. "Okay," he reached back for the phone.

Tom handed the phone over and pulled up his hood. "What do you want?" He muttered.
"How do you know it's him?" Bill replied.

"Hello? Mike?" Michael spoke into the phone. "Are you okay?"

Tom rolled his eyes. "I just do, ok? How else would he..." He sighed. "I know. And I just..."
"Sounds like a phony." Bill smirked.

"I'm with Kaulitz. I'm driving the car," Michael paused. "I'm sorry I didn't get to Chicago sooner but I've been busy. I'm not allowed to say where I was." He forgot to include important details.

Tom frowned and pulled his hood back down. He was getting annoyed, otherwise he wouldn't have let Michael see him talking to his yami. "Bill, stop it!" He muttered. "I'm trying to do the best I can!"

"You're no longer fit to be protector of this city. We're here to help. Once everyone else finds out, Chicago is going to have more problems," Michael got to the point.

"I could drive to his house," Michael waited for traffic to slow so he could get out of the parking lot of the gas station.
