Ryland scanned ahead for anyone useful he could ask to get the sloth milk as he walked.

Victoria kept her eyes lowered. She had to conserve her strength.

Ryland paused to order the sloth milk be brought to him as soon as possible upon his return and kept moving, looking back to check on Victoria.

Victoria stumbled slightly as she kept up with Ryland, her hair curling around her neck.

Ryland kept an eye on her as he moved, knowing the corridors so well he could have walked through them blind.

Victoria pulled her cape up slightly, acting younger than she had in a long time. She couldn't help it.

Victoria tripped on the hem of her dress, grabbing Ryland's shoulder to keep herself balanced.
