Mike had flown all the way to the Meagan; his wings hurt terribly. He angrily pounded on the door. "Blackinton, open!" he shouted.

Ryland walked around the Meagan and almost walked right past Mike pounding on the door. Once he noticed who it was he doubled back and tapped the angry avian on the shoulder. "What is this a new fad? Visit Ryland?"

Mike jumped and cleared his throat, glaring. "I'm here to discuss what William offered you." Without thinking, he added, "I can do better, if you're interested."

"Yes...?" Ryland looked suspicious. "Do you want to go in first?"

Mike glanced around. "Not before you hear what I have to say." He took a deep breath. "I'll be at your service as long as you can guarantee William and our children will never hear from you or your clan again. If you meet this condition, I'll do anything you ask me. If I ever find out that it wasn't respected, you're a dead man." He swallowed.

Ryland raised his eyebrows. "Just William and his children?" He grinned.

Mike thought for a moment. No, no just them, but...he wouldn't accept more, would he? "Just them," he muttered.

"Not the little fairy you stole from me? Someone saw something very interesting. Seems he's a woman now." Ryland remarked casually. "So by at my service what do you mean?"

Mike cringed at the mention of Sisky. If she can stay near Matt I've got nothing to worry about. "I'll do anything you ask, to put it simply. You choose your own restrictions." The term 'slave' came to his mind. It made him shudder.

"Interesting," Ryland thought for a moment. "In that case I believe you have something that is mine."

"William left with one of my clan members earlier. I do expect him to return eventually and if I require his services I will take him." Ryland's face remained blank.

Mike's expression didn't change. "Matt acts by himself. I hope you don't expect me to nicely bring him back to you."

"I expect him to come back nicely on his own, and for you not to interfere." Ryland said coldly. "Don't meddle in matters you don't understand."

Mike refrained from getting too easily angered. He nodded obediantly, teeth clenched.

Mike smiled weakly. "Good." He couldn't keep his mind off all the sadistic things Ryland could ask of him. Am I ever going to see William again?

Mike gave Ryland a digusted look, but he did need to feed. "On who?"

Ryland shut the door behind them and led the way down a hallway, barely acknowledging anyone who greeted him.

Mike followed without a sound, sometimes glancing around at the vampires. Where are we going?

Ryland opened a door and looked back at Mike before swinging it so the Avian could see the humans huddled inside the bare room.
