Paper trail

Hood put a protective arm around her and glanced over his shoulder to check hte figure wasn't following.

"Let's go buy that flat." Xcelia whispered, trying to keep calm.

"Yeah," said Hood hurridly rubbing her back. "Let do that."

Xcelia relaxed as she felt her master's presence fade away.

Hood felt Xcelia's muscles untense and looked over his shoulder to see the figure was gone. "How childish. He only wants you now that you have someone else."

Xcelia smirked. "Either that or his newest toy has run off with someone else."

"Well if thats it, he can go play her shadow."

Xcelia nodded, snuggling into Hood a little more.

Hood gave her a little squeeze and smiled. "Soon we will have a place of our own."

Xcelia lowered her eyes sadly. "Like a family..." She whispered.

Hood stopped and looked at Xcelia. "You really hate him for that don't you?"

Xcelia shrugged. "Some people aren't meant to have children..."

"You where born with a womb and where once able to have kids, it was that git who took that away. I can't believe that was meant to happen." He hugged her.

Xcelia shrugged. "M-maybe it's for the best..."

"How?" He asked trying desperatly to see the answer.

Xcelia closed her eyes, fighting back tears. "I wouldn't be a good mother."

Hood hugged her tighter, "Don't you ever think that. You would be brilliant."

Xcelia forced back a sob. "Well I'll never know."

"let's go sort this flat, then we can talk." Hood ran a finger benath her eyes to catch the tears.

Xcelia pulled back. "I don't see what there is to talk about."

"Just because we can't make a child doesn't mean we can't ever be parents. We could adopt." said Hood, grasping at straws.

Xcelia sighed. "There is something I could do..."

"What?" said Hood confused.

"There's this operation..." Xcelia mumbled. "It'll increase my chances of having a child."

"I don't want you to do anything that might hurt you." said Hood firmly.
