Humble Abode

Aliceabella stood her ground stubbournly, "You can't make me do anything." Fire flickered in her normally soft brown eyes.

Wren cocked a brow sharply. "Oh yeah?" her hand shot out to hit a point on Aliceabella's neck. "Try moving now. We are going to talk about this even if I have to kill you first!"

Aliceabella's eyes widened, "Let me go!" She gasped.

Wren shook her head, smirking. "It paralises you. Now, agree to come inside or we can stand out here and freeze. And I will sing more folk songs."

Aliceabella glared, "You won't paralise me."

Wren rolled her eyes. "Just get inside, Spindler."

Aliceabella nodded then froze as she felt something she hadn't felt in a while, "Shit."

Wren frowned and took her hand away, grasping Aliceabella's wrist instead. "Come on. You'll be safer in the Meagan."

"No!" Aliceabella pulled away, shaking.

Wren frowned. "Okay we'll talk here. Just promise me you won't run off again. Okay?"

Tears slid down her face, "I want him to stay dead!"

Wren frowned. "Who? Aliceabella, what happened? Why did you try to leave?"

"Damian, he won't even stay dead...He's the one who said the thing with Ryland was a mistake on Ryland's part." Aliceabella sobbed.

Wren's expression softened. "Aliceabella, you're wrong. Damian's a crackpot you needs to get a life and learn to stay dead. You don't deserve him, and now you have Dane, right? And - I can't believe I'm saying this - you have me too. Okay? Now let's get back inside before that sick bastard pops up from the dead again."

Aliceabella frowned, "You mean that?"

Wren nodded. "Let's get walking. We can talk on the way, okay?" she smiled a little, though it was the best she could do.

Aliceabella nodded slowly and followed Wren.

Wren glanced round, wary for anything to go wrong. "Anything else been freaking you out lately?"

Aliceabella's breath caught in her throat and she swayed. Vlad shrieked in his mothers arms.

Wren's eyes widened and she quickly grabbed Aliceabella's shoulders. "Whoa! Easy..."

"He can't do that- IT'S NOT FAIR!" Aliceabella screamed.

Wren blinked. "Shhhh!" she soothed hurriedly. "Here, you want me to take Vlad?"

"N-no..." Aliceabella clung to her son, shaking roughly.

Wren nodded. "Okay. Come on, you'll be safer inside. We can protect you then. Are you sure he's alive again?"

Aliceabella shook her head, "Not alive. Not dead either."
