Victoria hid a smile of her own. If Ryland hadn't been so twisted he would have made a brilliant parent.

This girl hasn't been taught to hate. Victoria realised with a jolt.

Ryland started towards the kitchens, thinking that Angel might like it better to see instead of ordering someone to bring the food. He was taken aback at his random concern for the child's happiness.
