No reason

Aliceabella didn't like how well Ryland and Damian were getting on, but bit her lip and stayed silent.

"Such as the right not to be left with her?" Damian gestured to Aliceabella. "Well I'm sorry you got stuck with her."

Ryland shrugged. "At least she doesn't kick me in the groin like my former mate."

Aliceabella blinked at what he said. She was probably wrong- but it sounded like he was refering to her as his mate. She shook her head, she was most likely wrong.

Damian chuckled. "Aliceabella doesn't have the nerve." As if to demonstrate he made a gesutre towards Aliceabella, causing her to flinch.

Ryland watched, "William was like that once, but then he found someone to 'love' and he grew a spine."

Aliceabella pulled her knees to her chest, staring at Damian fearfully. At Ryland's comment she glanced at him, a small sympathetic smile on her face.

Damian noticed the look on Aliceabella's face and raised an eyebrow. "And you think Aliceabella will find someone to 'love'?" He asked, looking back at Ryland.

Ryland raised his own eyebrow, "Personally I don't believe there is such a thing as love."

Aliceabella wasn't sure why, but when Ryland said that she felt something inside her deflate- but passed it off as an internal injury from when Damian had hit her.

Damian smirked. "Perhaps not love- but the mind tricking itself into believing they are in love." He chuckled. "I'll addmit I'm immune to that."

Ryland shrugged, "I didn't keep a close enough eye on William."

Aliceabella glanced at Ryland before looking at Damian. Biting her lip she stood slowly, using the wall as support.

Damian chuckled. "At least they didn't flee the country." He turned to glare at Aliceabella.

Ryland shrugged and glanced a Aliceabella.

Aliceabella didn't know what do to, she knew she needed to leave- but Damian stood between herself and the door, and part of her felt a little safer when Ryland was there. At that thought she glanced over at Ryland.

Damian chuckled darkly at Aliceabella before scooping her bag off the floor. He glanced at Ryland. "Keep her here while I go retrieve the child- I'll get her out of your hair for good." He smirked then took one last look at Aliceabella before walking out.

Ryland frowned slightly. "It's a little stuffy in here." He moved across the room and opened the window, leaning out for a moment. "Much better."

Once Damian was gone Aliceabella moved across the room to stand next to Ryland. "Since when have you cared about the stuffiness of a room?"

Damian entered the nursery and ordered some lesser vampires to get the baby ready to be taken home.

"Since this one became stuffy," Ryland said, amused. "It's the whole Meagan actually. Ventilation problems I suppose."

Aliceabella smiled faintly then glanced back at the door, sighing in relief when she saw Damian wasn't back yet. She looked back at Ryland and moved a little closer to him.

Damian sighed and leant against the wall, these vampires were so slow. He began strumming his fingers against his arm, sighing in annoyance.

"I should probably see someone about the problem while it's still on my mind," Ryland moved away from the window but left it open. "Follow," he left the room.

Aliceabella blinked then ran after him, smiling when she realised what he'd done. Before she could stop herself she hugged him tightly. "Thank you."
