The heart may freeze, or it can burn...

Ryland bounced Vlad a little for something to do as he followed.

Aliceabella paused then looked at Ryland, "Maybe you had better lead the way..."
Vlad shrieked in delight, tugging on a strand of Ryland's hair.

Ryland chuckled and turned away from the direction Aliceabella had been headed in.

Aliceabella followed, smiling at how happy Vlad seemed.

"Hope you're paying attention," Ryland raised an eyebrow, and chuckled as he picked out the right way.

Aliceabella nodded, trying to memorize the room numbers. "I am."
Vlad began biting his hand happily.

Ryland blinked down at Vlad, a little confused, but he kept walking. "Here it is."

Aliceabella nodded and looked around, trying to spot anything that might help her remember the location.
Vlad stopped biting his hand and giggled in glee as his hand set on fire.

Ryland raised an eyebrow, "You're like your mother."

Aliceabella turned then blinked as she saw what her son was doing. She wrapped her hand around his, putting the fire out.
Vlad frowned, "Mamama baaad!"

Ryland chuckled and opened the door to show that someone had already put the fully assembled crib inside.

Aliceabella blinked in surprise, "They did that quickly."
Vlad stared at the crib, "Papapapa?" He looked at Ryland, trying to ask what it was.

"Crib," Ryland said clearly. "And it's yours."

"Cib..." Vlad looked at the crib, eyes wide.
Aliceabella walked into the room and held the door open for Ryland and the infant in his arms.

Ryland put the child in his bed so he could see, noticing that someone had placed baby blankets they hadn't purchased inside.

Aliceabella put the bag of clothes on the bed then blinked as she remembered something, "You never did go to the clinic."
Vlad put one of the blankets in his mouth and chewed on it happily.

Ryland touched his nose. "You're right."

Aliceabella took the blanket out of Vlad's mouth, "You need it looked at." She looked up at Ryland.

"I'll go," Ryland turned for the door.

"I'll see you soon then," Aliceabella kissed Vlad on the nose, causing the child to giggle and pat his mothers stomach. Aliceabella winced in pain as he patted one of the bruises Damian had given her.

Ryland walked down the hall towards the clinic, hands in his pockets.

"Don't do that Vlad," Aliceabella kissed Vlad on the nose again and went to put the baby outfits away.
Vlad looked round, "Papapa?"

Ryland sat down to wait, but it wasn't long before someone came to him.

Aliceabella dressed Vlad in one of the new outfits and sat down on the bed, opening the baby name's book.

Ryland went back with the worker to have his nose checked.
